There’s nothing worse than getting ready to go see your mates at the pub and looking down to see those sad eyes…
All our fur babies want is to come along for the ride and be with their best friend, so make their day by bringing them along! Here’s our top picks of dog-friendly cafes, bars and eateries in the city – and some of these even let you bring them indoors with you.

Hoppers
This little oasis in the heart of Ponsonby always has something going on. You can bring your furry friend along and they can even sit on your lap while you sip on your favourite cocktail or beer! If you’re after food we recommend trying their Fried Chicken sliders, Chorizo and Manchego Croquettes and their Truffle Mac and Cheese.

Little Creatures
Sitting on the waterfront in Hobsonville, Little Creatures is a huge venue with a generous outdoor space that always has waterbowls full for your dog. You’ll love the selection of Little Creatures beers among others, and there are lots of great food options too, plus you can walk your dog around the waterfront before or after you visit, there’s even an off-leash dog park just a few minute’s walk away.

Inca
Bring your furry friend along to Ponsonby Central where you’ll find Inca, an incredible space where Latin America meets Asia. The music and atmosphere is always spot on here. Some of our favourites on the menu include the Guacamole (prepared for you right at your table), Crispy Rice Nigiri Sushi, Woodfired Baby Back Ribs, and the Spicy Tuna Tostada which was just named a 2026 Iconic Auckland Eats Top 100 winner!
The Beer Spot
This could be your go-to dog-friendly pub! Not only do they allow dogs inside, but there are multiple locations in Auckland so there’s sure to be one on your doorstep! You might even find a cute dog brew in a can for your furry friend.
