Export’s Great Walk… with a Beer Garden at the End!

Export is bringing a new meaning to ‘Great Walk’, taking inspiration from New Zealand’s Great Walks to bring Kiwis a walking experience like no other.

With New Zealand’s Great Walks booking out months in advance, leaving even the keenest weekend warriors in the lurch, Export has come to the rescue, opening its own private coastal trail for one day only. The twist? There’s a beer garden at the end of it.

Each year, thousands of Kiwis battle it out online for a highly coveted Great Walk spot, with close to 100,000 people booking a great walk annually. Last year demand was so intense, the website crashed after bookings opened and the most popular tracks sold out within minutes.

So, Export decided to make its own. One that’s a little easier to get into, and a lot easier to enjoy, because there’s no better feeling than kicking back with mates and celebrating the little wins, like securing a spot on a hike and then crushing it.

Pahi Views

On Saturday 15 November, Kiwis can lace up for the Export Great Walk. Located in the Coromandel, the six-kilometre trek tracks across the sought-after Pahi trail, one of the first privately operated walks in the country.

The track winds over rolling hills, through native bush and along untouched shoreline with views out to Great Barrier Island, before finishing where great walks should… with a celebration, a snack and a cold one in nature’s beer garden, a laid-back spot reminiscent of your favourite inner-city outdoor pub but better. With comfy beach chairs, shady umbrellas, lawn games and sweeping ocean views.

The Export Great Walk marks the launch of Export Crushed, Export’s new evolution of flavoured beer. Available in two crisp, fruit-infused flavours, Pineapple and Lemon. It’s low in sugar and carbs and 4% ABV.

Export Crushed Beer Garden

Kate Baars, Senior Marketing Manager at DB Breweries, says, “We wanted to bring Kiwis a true Kiwi summer experience to enjoy with mates. The Export Great Walk isn’t about endurance or extremes, it’s about kicking back and reflecting on the little wins in life, the “I really just crushed that!” moments that make a day brighter.

“It made sense for us to run this experience alongside the launch of our new Export Crushed offering. It’s light, fun and delicious, the perfect embodiment of a summers’ day where you feel like everything is going your way. We look forward to hearing what people think of it!” she adds.

The Export Great Walk is a ticketed experience, priced at $60 per person. The first lot have already sold out, so make sure to get on the next lot on 29th October before they are gone!

Each ticket includes (very efficient) private transport for the entirety of the journey from Auckland directly to the Pahi trailhead and back, light snacks and drinks, and of course the Export Crushed Beer Garden experience. The all-day experience will run from 9.00am to 7.30pm, with approximately 3 hours allocated for the trail and 2 hours to enjoy the Export Beer Garden.
