Vinyl lovers have a new reason to head into Auckland’s CBD, with TRIBE Auckland Fort Street launching the Pacific’s first TRIBE Vinyl Club in partnership with iconic record store Real Groovy.
Following successful launches in European cities including London, Paris, Amsterdam and Budapest, the concept has arrived in Auckland with dedicated vinyl listening stations at both the hotel lobby and, soon, Real Groovy’s store. Each space features premium audio equipment, carefully chosen furniture and a rotating collection of local and international records curated by the Real Groovy team.
“This partnership lets us do what Real Groovy does best, connect people with great music in another corner of Auckland,” says Dan Bali, Marketing Manager at Real Groovy. “Curating a rotating vinyl selection with TRIBE is a nice way to help people discover their next favourite record.”
The collection also includes TRIBE’s limited edition global LP, New Grounds, featuring artists including Khruangbin, Danny Brown, Brian Eno, John Cale, Martina Topley-Bird and Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, alongside four exclusive unreleased tracks.
From August to October, the experience will expand beyond the lobby with monthly TRIBE Vinyl Club listening parties at Sienna, the hotel’s SoCal inspired restaurant and bar. Held on the first Thursday of each month, the evenings will bring together music lovers, DJs, local creatives and visitors for vinyl, cocktails, food and community.
